Winter schedule = Irrigation runs twice per week. 

During the cooler winter months with shorter daylight and less heat, less water is required and plants become semi-dormant. Some yards may not look as green as the summer months. 

Additionally, some yards have a sub ground fungus that thrives in water so trying to minimize that growth as well.
